How Is Service Console Licensed
The primary task of Service Console is to check internet/intranet services. Service Console uses the rules to check the services. Thus, Service Console is licensed according to the maximum count of rules it can process while checking the services.E.g.: If you wish to check 9 services, you need 10 Service Console licenses (i.e. 2 x 5 licenses). Then you can create up to 10 rules, in Service Console.
NOTE: ICMP Ping based rules (i.e. those using ICMP Ping template) are free.
Attempt to create more rules than you have licensed is indicated as the 'Number of XXX licensed services exceeded' error.
What is the Service Console license key
Service Console licenses are being distributed in the form of license keys. License key is a string holding encoded serial number and a specific number of Service Console licenses. You can combine more license keys in Service Console. It is also perfectly possible to add new license keys at any time there is a need to extend capabilities of Service Console without stopping Service Console operation.
You can enter license keys into Service Console from its console process, or, through the Settings page after logging into Service Console with your Web browser.
