CS-Care is a network management system for mixed environments of Microsoft Windows stations and servers, Novell servers, Unix hosts and active network components.
It supports automatic node discovery in TCP/IP and IPX network protocols and of Microsoft Windows domains and workgroups computers. Additionally, services of interest can be detected - www, ftp, telnet, SNMP agents, remote control agents.
Using CS-Care, it is possible to visualize online statistics in graphs, set threshold levels and configure alarm conditions. Trap system has three pre-defined trap severities and bunches of additional actions you can assign to trap types, e.g. send e-mail, start an external application.
It is possible to integrate 3rd party applications inside CS-Care. The idea behind it is to enable integration of services that are not provided by CS-Care itself into its framework. You can also specify criteria for IP discovery to be able to detect the presence of applications or their agents on remote hosts.Remote services can be detected by TCP sockets, through SNMP and using user-supplied Java classes enabled to check for the presence of an arbitrary service.
